MUNCIE, Ind. — With a victory over Tusculum University last Wednesday, the Ball State Men’s Volleyball team looks to prepare for MIVA conference play as it kicks off this Thursday against Purdue-Fort Wayne.
As the season continues head coach Donan Cruz believes the Cardinals have grown into what it takes to have a championship season.
“We had a really good non-conference slate and learned a lot about ourselves and figured out that we were a group that definitely has the potential to do something special,” said Cruz.
The Cardinals have shown strong signs of progression throughout non-conference play. Junior Patrick Rogers appreciates the Cardinal's perseverance for wanting to get better as the season continues.
“We had a couple big losses to BYU and Stanford but all that is a learning experience and we get better from those every single day,” said Rogers.
Getting better every single day is a goal for not only the whole team but for every play in their individual performance when asked if he has a switch for non-conference games and MIVA conference games.
Senior Tinaishe Ndavazocheva explained that changing up his style of play for certain games wouldn’t help out his end goal as a volleyball player.
“To be honest I just try to get 1 percent better every time I get the opportunity to step on the court so every game is the same to me, whatever team it is I just try to perform good and better than the last game,” said Ndavazocheva.
