Ball State’s Board of Trustees met for a specialty meeting in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center Founders Room Feb. 7.

The meeting approved the appointment of Scott Stachler as Interim Vice President for Business Affairs and Dan Garrett as Interim Treasurer, replacing Alan Finn, who will now serve as Executive Vice President for Finance and Chief Operating Office for Butler University after five and a half years.

“Both Scott and Dan have served the university for many years. They're quite experienced and knowledgeable about their position, quite competent. I can personally attest that they are detail-oriented and certainly conscientious,” Ball State president Geoffrey Mearns said.

The motion was unanimously approved.

Finn’s last day with the board is Feb. 14.

“This is the best job I’ve ever had in my life,” he said.

A farewell reception for Finn will be held in Bracken Library during his last day, according to Ball State’s Communications Center.

The next regular committee board meeting will be Feb. 28.
