MUNCIE, Ind. — Kat’s Crystals and Curiosities is more than just a store with handmade crafts and crystals. It’s a store located in downtown Muncie with the purpose of serving passion and hobbies that can turn into a lifelong dream.
Kat Mesaros, owner of Kat’s Crystals and Curiosities, has always had a passion for crystals and handmade objects since she was a teenager. Mesaros said she wanted to open up a store full of things that she has a deep passion for.
After teaming up with her mother, who is a Ball State Art student, to open up her store filled with art and crystals, Mesaros has been able to build her store from the ground up.
Mesaros expressed how proud she is of the store on their one-year anniversary which took place Nov. 15. She explained how she wouldn’t be able to do it without the love and support from not only her mother but also from her sister as well.
“I just really want to thank all of the people that helped me make this possible, my mom and sister both officially work with me and for me, but other than that, I have a really good community of people around me,” said Mesaros.
Shea Mesaros, Kat’s sister, also expressed how proud she is of her sister and seeing how far the store has come.
“I am proud of her, and just seeing like, from when she started the business to now, the one-year anniversary, and how she has had this passion for this for a long time,” said Mesaros. “It’s really cool seeing her be a business owner and take charge of everything and seeing her passions and dreams come to reality.”
Kat’s store stands as a reflection of her journey and how far a business owner come. Not once did Kat give up on her dream of having a store. The love and support she had from her mother and sister gave her enough to keep going with her store and to not give up.
Kat’s Crystals and Curiosities is set as a reminder to everyone that as long as you have a passion, you can have a dream.
