Ball State has dominant win over Old Dominion

Ball State kept their foot on the gas the entire game to beat the Monarch 60-46.

MUNCIE, Ind. — The Ball State women’s basketball team had a dominant win over the Old Dominion Monarchs on Monday where they led the entire game. Their defense was on its A-game as the monarchs didn’t score their first points of the game until halfway through the first quarter.

“It got loud in there,” said head coach Brady Sallee. “The student section, the band, it was a great atmosphere.” The crowd definitely helped in this game as at one point in the second quarter the Cardinals went on a 15-0 run. Even though the cardinals won this game comfortably with the final score being 60-46 coach Sallee still thinks his team can work on some things,

“We’ve got a lot that we can work on between turnovers, a little bit of rebounding, a little bit of execution but it’s a good start,” claimed Sallee.

The cardinals put on a defensive clinic as they put up eight total blocks as a team and the cardinals senior forward Marie Kiefer had four blocks by herself. Overall the cardinals had a very dominant win. Some things got chippy and choppy in the second quarter as senior forward Elise Stuck would go on to say

“I think that was a big quarter for us. I mean obviously, the beginning of the second quarter got a little choppy and we talked about it at half-time just how we responded was really impressive honestly we had a lot of things not go our way back to back-to-back.”
