Ball State art sale shows off students' work

Ball State Art students held a print sale in the Atrium section of the Art and Journalism building from Nov. 4-Nov. 8.

MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State Art students held a print sale in the Atrium section of the Art and Journalism building from Nov. 4-Nov. 8.

It can be rather difficult at times for artists to find an audience to show off their work and even potentially sell it. That is where student-run print sales come into play. These events give the chance for many young artists to sell their art for the first time.

“It feels very cool, I feel like this is one of the first times most of us can have our art on sale. It’s a very cool experience,” one of the artists, Kaylie Bogunovich said.

However, it is not just allowing current students to appreciate this student-created art. It is also available to the Muncie community and Ball State alumni and allows them to purchase it.

“I think having student-made art out and accessible and available is incredible,”

One alumna, Saberina Mardis, said. “It’s a really good way for students to be able to showcase their art in a public way. Without having to rely on social media presence or having their own store or anything. So it’s a really nice way for them to get their art out”

However, this is not the only sale this school year that sells student art, the artist from earlier.

“We usually have these once a semester. Sometimes they’re organized by different organizations at Ball State like the art ed community,” Bogunovich said.
