Take the MITS bus!

 SPONSORED

Riding with MITS (Muncie Indiana Transit System) makes getting around Muncie a breeze! Students ride for free, and the MITS bus can take you to Ball State University, Walmart, Ball Memorial Hospital, Downtown Muncie, the Minnetrista Cultural Center and many more places around Muncie.

Avoid the hassle that comes with driving

While driving can be nice, one can’t deny the challenges that come with it. Driving means you must fuel your tank, pay for parking and potentially risk getting an expensive parking ticket[MD1] . Public transportation allows you to avoid those daily hassles, while also being environmentally friendly, as it reduces traffic and significantly lowers carbon emissions[MD2] .

Accessibility

MITS busses are designed with accessibility in mind, and all busses are equipped with a wheelchair ramp. MITS also offers MITSPlus, a door-to-door assistance service for mobility impaired persons. To use MitsPlus, you’ll need to fill out an application, which can be found here.

How Do I Ride?

Those who aren’t accustomed to public transportation may be hesitant to take the bus, but riding with MITS is easy! Download the MITSBus App to find estimated times of arrival and the real-time location of the bus. Each route is highlighted in a different color, so you can easily plan your trip. If you’re on the bus and you need to stop somewhere that isn’t necessarily a specific stop, all you must do is press the yellow strip on the wall about a block away from your requested stop, and the driver will drop you off. If you’d like more detailed information, check out Your First Bus Ride on the MITS website.
