Still/Moving: Framing New Media is at the Griner Art Gallery

The Ned and Gloria Griner Art Gallery is currently exhibiting the Still/Moving: Framing New Media show.

MUNCIE, Ind. — The Ned and Gloria Griner Art Gallery is currently exhibiting the Still/Moving: Framing New Media show. The art gallery usually exhibits student works but it is currently exhibiting this guest artist exhibition. This show features the work of Jason Bernagozzi (Colorado State), Jamie Hahn (Kent State), Evelyne Leblanc-Roberge (University of Rochester), Kristin Reeves (Grand Valley State) and Eric Souther (Western Michigan).

This show includes works of videography, photography, installation, book arts and performance. It focuses on showing the progression between analog film, digital video, and other new media technologies. With a wide variety of media with all different types of colors, there is plenty for people to enjoy.

“I really like the colors that are used. Specifically in like the area over there with the TV screens,” Shelby Thompson, Student Receptionist at the Griner Art Gallery, said.

However, if you are sensitive to flashing lights this exhibition may not be for you due to certain sectioning showing casing them. There is a section that focuses on photography, though which can be an alternative.

“I have mixed feelings about it, I’m bad with like flashing lights and there's a lot of flashing lights in this gallery,” Thompson said.

This exhibition is taking place as of now until November 15th, 2024. You can visit the Griner Art Gallery Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m to 4 p.m..
