Minnetrista gets in the fall spirit with “Family Adventure Day: Fall Festival”

Local businesses contribute to an inclusive community.

MUNCIE, Ind. — Fall is in the air, and Minnetrista plans to hold several events to dive into the season. The local museum and garden are known for their beautiful campus and their ability to connect the community through events.

Minnetrista partnered with First Merchants Bank to hold a Wednesday Family Adventure Day: Fall Festival. The three two-hour sessions, which included free admission to the attendees, were from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1 to 3 p.m., and 4 to 6 p.m. Upon arrival, people checked in at the Center Building with the names they registered online.

Booths were set up to receive brochures, which highlighted where specific workshops took place. Families and kids collected gifts at the Minnetrista and First Merchants Bank booths. The families then set off to meander the campus and attend the workshops.

Workshops available to guests included:

  • Lawn games at the Moon Garden and Betty’s Cabin Lawn
  • Scratch-art crafts at Hackley Gallery
  • A cider press demonstration in the Apple Barn
  • A special visit from Animal Rescue Fund (ARF), bringing animals up for adoption at the Education Center
  • Imagination Playground and board games in the Indiana Room
  • Hot dogs, brats and nachos are served at the Cantina
  • Sensory bags given out at Bob Ross Experience in the L.L. Ball home
