Below are the highlights and results of this past week of Delaware County sporting events that the Ball State Daily News staff was unable to attend. Please send stats to sports@bsudaily.news, zachary.carter@bsu.edu or david.moore@bsu.edu to make sure your team is featured. 

Monday (Sept. 30)

Muncie Central volleyball hit the court to take on Greenfield-Central. The Bearcats would fall in three sets 3-0 (11-25, 14-25, 13-25). No stats could be found.

Wapahani Boys soccer went on the road to face Centerville. The Raiders and Bulldogs were knotted at one apiece and ended in a 1-1 tie. The red and white were led by sophomore Gabe Peters who notched the lone goal for Wapahani.

Wapahani Girls soccer took on Rushville in a home contest. The Raiders would fall in the match 3-2. No stats could be found.

Muncie Burris Boys soccer took on Anderson in a home match where the Owls would fall 3-0. 

Tuesday (Oct. 1)

Delta Girls soccer hosted rival Yorktown in a tight contest that saw the Eagles come out on top 1-0. The navy and gold were led by junior Aubree Jarrells who scored the lone goal.

Yorktown volleyball went on the road to face HHC rival New Palestine. The Tigers would sweep the Dragons in three sets 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-18). Yorktown senior Charlotte Vinson led the charge with 14 kills.

Yorktown Boys soccer took on Marion at home. The Tigers defeated the Giants by a score of 5-4 with senior Carter Maddox leading the way with two goals for the green and white.

Muncie Central Girls soccer hit the field against Tipton and would fall 7-0.

Muncie Central volleyball clashed with Connersville in a road match where the Bearcats would be swept 3-0 (10-25, 16-25, 18-25). No stats could be found.

Wapahani volleyball faced off against Union and swept the Rockets in three sets 3-0 (25-5, 25-10, 25-1). Raiders senior Sophia Beeson led the charge with 11 kills.

Daleville volleyball hosted MEC rival Eastern Hancock defeating the Royals in three sets 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 27-25). Leading the Broncos was sophomore Madelyn Rees who notched 22 kills in the match.

Muncie Burris Girls soccer clashed with Mississinewa at home but would end the match knotted in a 3-3 tie. No stats could be found.

Wes-Del volleyball took on Eastbrook and would fall in three sets 3-0 (10-25, 20-25, 22-25). Warriors senior Amelia Hudson-Roberts led the charge with 13 kills. 

Cowan volleyball hit the court against MEC rival Shenandoah but fell in five sets 3-2 (26-24, 15-25, 17-25, 25-20, 11-15). Junior Keira Drew led the Blackhawks with 17 kills.

Wednesday (Oct. 2)

Delta Boys soccer took on Muncie Central in a home match the Eagles would win 1-0. Scoring the singular goal for the navy and gold was sophomore Cooper Pierce.

Delta volleyball clashed with Hamilton Heights but would be swept in three sets 3-0 (17-25, 19-25, 16-25). Eagles senior Addie Phillippe led with ten kills.

Muncie Burris Boys soccer traveled to face Hamilton Heights and defeated the Huskies 5-1. Leading the blue and yellow was senior Liam Hannon with three goals. 

Wes-Del volleyball faced off against MEC conference rival Randolph Southern and fell in four sets 3-1 (23-25, 20-25, 26-24, 21-25). No stats could be found.

Thursday (Oct. 3)

Muncie Burris Boys soccer traveled to face county foe Yorktown where the Owls would be the victors 3-1. The blue and yellow were led by senior Liam Hannon who notched all three goals for the Owls. Leading the green and white was senior Carter Maddox who tallied the lone goal for the Tigers.

Delta Girls soccer hit the road to face off against Centerville. The road squad would take the win 2-0 being led by junior Jordan Bunch scoring both goals for the Eagles.

Muncie Central Girls soccer took on Jay County in a road contest. The Bearcats would fall in the match 9-0. 

Wapahani Boys soccer hosted Anderson in a match where the Raiders would be shutout 7-0. 

Daleville Boys soccer hit the road to take on Tri-Central in a match the Broncos would fall 5-0.

Muncie Burris volleyball took on New Castle in a match that would go all five sets. The Owls would come out victorious with a 3-2 (15-25, 20-25, 27-25, 25-19, 15-11) win. The blue and yellow were led by senior Lilly Howell who racked up 17 kills in the contest.

Friday (Oct. 4)

Muncie Central football went on the road to face off against McCutcheon. The Bearcats would fall to the Mavericks 20-14. The purple and white were led by junior running back Dae’cion Echols who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown.

Yorktown football went on the road taking on HHC Conference rival Greenfield-Central, defeating the Cougars 21-7. Tigers senior running back Wilson Webster led the charge with 173 rushing yards to go along with a touchdown score.

Muncie Burris Girls soccer took on Wapahani in a home match where the Owls would take the win in shutout fashion 6-0. No stats could be found.

Saturday (Oct. 5)

Delta Boys tennis won their 32nd straight sectional title, taking down Muncie Central and Yorktown en route to the championship.
