Below are the highlights and results of this past week of Delaware County sporting events that the Ball State Daily News staff was unable to attend. Please send stats to sports@bsudaily.news, zachary.carter@bsu.edu or david.moore@bsu.edu to make sure your team is featured. 

Monday (Sept. 16)

Yorktown Boys soccer hosted rival Delta in a match the Eagles would take the win 3-0. Leading the navy and gold was junior Maddox Huffman hitting the back of the net twice.

Muncie Burris volleyball took on Lapel in a home match that would see the Owls take down the Bulldogs in four sets 3-1 (21-25, 25-10, 25-16, 25-19). The blue and yellow were led by senior Lilly Howell who racked up nineteen kills.

Wapahni Girls golf took on Monroe Central but would take the loss 188-186. The Raiders were led by senior Delaney Dodd who shot a 41. 

Tuesday (Sept. 17)

Daleville volleyball took on Blue River Valley in a home conference matchup where the Broncos swept the Vikings in three sets 3-0 (25-10, 25-10, 25-8). Daleville senior Trishell Johnson led the black and gold with thirteen kills.

Daleville Boys soccer hosted Liberty Christian and would fall 2-0. 

Yorktown volleyball hit the court against conference rival New Castle. The Tigers earned a sweep over the Trojans 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-20). Leading the green and black were seniors Shanese Williams and Charlotte Vinson with nine kills apiece.

Muncie Central Boys soccer traveled to Anderson taking on the Indians. In regulation, both squads were knotted at one goal each, but the Bearcats went on to win the shootout 5-4. Senior Oliver Beane scored the lone goal in regulation for the purple and white.

Muncie Central Girls soccer hit the road to take on conference foe Anderson. The Bearcats would fall by a score of 7-2. Leading the purple and white were senior Sadie Hanna and sophomore Abbi McGee who each notched one goal.

Delta Girls soccer hosted New Castle in a Hoosier Heritage Conference (HHC) clash. The Eagles took the win in shutout fashion 3-0. The navy and gold were led by junior Grace Jarrells who tallied two goals.

Delta volleyball traveled to New Palestine for a conference contest, but the Eagles fell in three sets 3-0 (22-25, 23-25, 25-27). Delta senior Addie Phillippe led the charge for the navy and gold with twenty-one kills.

Wapahani Girls soccer took on Mississinewa in a home match where the Raiders would fall 10-0.

Cowan volleyball took the court against Randolph Southern where the Blackhawks would sweep the Rebels 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-10). Leading the black and yellow were senior Allie Trimble and junior Keira Drew with ten kills each.

Muncie Burris Boys soccer traveled to New Castle defeating the Trojans 5-0. Owls senior Liam Hannon notched four goals in the victory.

Muncie Burris Girls soccer took on Indianapolis Shortridge and defeated the Blue Devils 7-0. No stats could be found.

Muncie Burris volleyball hosted Pioneer conference rival Seton Catholic, sweeping the Cardinals 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-12). The Owls were led by juniors Mya Trammell and Emi Cukrowicz and sophomore JaMaria Jackson who all tallied nine kills.

Wes-Del volleyball went on the road taking on the Golden Bears of Monroe Central. The Warriors would take the win in four sets 3-1 (24-26, 25-17, 25-15, 27-25). No stats could be found.

Delta Girls golf hosted Yorktown on the Eagles' senior night. The navy and gold took the win 205-210. Delta was led by Josey Morris shooting a 50 overall, and the Tigers were led by Grace Turner who placed first individually shooting a 48.

Wednesday (Sept. 18)

Yorktown Boys soccer traveled to Pendleton Heights to take on the Arabians in a conference clash. The Tigers would fall 9-0 in the contest.

Delta volleyball hit the court against Noblesville where the Eagles would fall in four sets (25-22, 23-25, 22-25, 19-25). The navy and gold were led by senior Addie Phillippe with sixteen kills.

Wapahani Girls soccer went on the road to take on Knightstown. The Raiders would fall in the match 4-0. 

Wapahani volleyball traveled to Madison Grant to take on the Argylls. The Raiders would come out on top, sweeping the home team 3-0 (25-18, 25-8, 25-23). The red and white were led by junior Kami Rivers with eleven kills. 

Delta Girls golf competed in a three-way meet with Eastbrook and Elwood. The Eagles placed first overall shooting a 192 as a team. Leading the way were Avery Stinson and Josey Morris who both shot a 45. 

Thursday (Sept. 19)

Yorktown Girls soccer hosted Centerville in a contest the Tigers would win in shutout fashion 9-0. No stats could be found.

Delta Boys soccer took on Pendleton Heights in a home match. The Eagles would fall in the contest 3-1. Delta senior Keith Anieto scored the lone goal for the navy and gold.

Delta Girls soccer went on the road to take on Elwood. The Eagles came out victorious, winning 9-0. Leading the navy and gold was junior Grace Jarrells with four goals.

Muncie Central Boys soccer hosted Hamilton Heights in a low scoring contest where the Bearcats came out on top 1-0. No stats could be found. 

Muncie Central Girls soccer hit the road to take on Lapel. The Bearcats would fall 12-0 in the match. 

Wapahani Boys soccer hosted Lapel in a match that would end knotted at two goals apiece. Juniors Hunter Rodeffer and Kaleb Keihn each scored a goal to lead the Raiders.

Wapahani volleyball took on Randolph Southern in a home conference match. The Raiders would sweep the Rebels 3-0 (25-9, 25-16, 25-15). Junior Kami Rivers led the red and white with twelve kills. 

Daleville Boys soccer took on Union City and would fall 9-0. 

Muncie Burris Girls soccer went on the road to face off against Union County. The Owls would defeat the Patriots 6-1. No stats could be found.

Cowan volleyball traveled to take on Eastbrook and would fall in three sets 3-0 (14-25, 23-25, 17-25). No stats could be found. 

Wapahani Girls golf took on Muncie Burris and defeated the Owls 182-219 to cap off the regular season. Raiders senior Delaney Dodd shot a 40 earning her first place overall. 

Friday (Sept. 20)

Yorktown football went on the road to take on Hoosie Heritage Conference foe New Castle. The Tigers would fall 27-13. Sophomore quarterback Sam Tokar led the Tigers passing for 143 passing yards and one touchdown.

Wes-Del football traveled to North White, and the Warriors earned their second victory of the season, winning 20-8. Leading the maroon and black on the ground was sophomore running back Rhyker Mauck who racked up 94 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Muncie Central football took on Anderson for the Bearcats homecoming and locked up their first win of the year 55-12. No stats could be found.

Saturday (Sept. 21)

Yorktown volleyball took on Providence and McCutcheon in a two game tournament. The Tigers would sweep both matches in three sets. No stats could be found.

Delta Girls soccer faced off against Pendleton Heights at home where the home squad would fall 2-1. Eagles freshman Shiloh Bunch notched the lone goal for the navy and gold.

Delta volleyball hosted Westfield in a match where the Eagles would be swept 3-0 (17-25 22-25 22-25). Delta was led by senior Addie Phillippe with thirteen kills.

Daleville volleyball competed in a four match tournament and would go 3-1 overall on the day. The Broncos faced off against Pioneer, Leo, New Haven and Woodlan in that order. The black and golds lone loss came to Leo falling in two sets, while sweeping Pioneer and New Haven and defeating Woodlan in three sets.

Muncie Burris Boys soccer took on Park Tudor at home, falling 6-2. No stats could be found. 

Muncie Burris Girls soccer traveled to Greenwood Christian Academy, defeating the Cougars 2-1. No stats could be found. 

Wapahani, Yorktown, Delta, Muncie Central, Daleville, Wes-Del and Muncie Burris Girls golf competed in sectionals where the Raiders would earn their first sectional title in school history shooting a 341 as a team, but were led by junior Kenzie Brannon (75) and senior Delaney Dodd (78) placing first and second overall individually.  The Eagles placed second with a 347 as a team led by Avery Stinson with an 82. The Tigers placed third with a team score of 351, led by Lucy Melton placing fifth overall with an 84. The Owls placed seventh with a team score of 425. The Broncos placed eighth, shooting a 429 as a team.
