MUNCIE, Ind. — On the afternoon of September 18, 180 employers will teach Ball State students the different job opportunities they provide during the Cardinal Jobs Fair.
These employers participate in various industry clusters, all with different branches and positions that keep those industries running. Assistant vice president for career and business development Jim McAtee reveals one thing industry recruiters look for in students.
“Every company that comes has a niche, with a service or product they deliver,” McAtee said, “but there are also a whole slew of business processes behind the scenes. They need talent from every one of our majors here at Ball State.”
On the other hand, students come to the job fair looking for the career that best suits their interests. This comes from individual interests, depending on the student.
“No matter the student’s interest,” McAtee said, “generally, there is something there we can connect them with. If there's not, we can go out and find it for them.”
The jobs fair will take place at Worthen Arena on Ball State’s campus. This, according to McAtee, is an ideal location as it pertains to logistics.
“There are many logistical things to look out for,” McAtee said. “There are things like parking, getting people’s supplies where they need to go, and giving students a chance to see everyone in attendance.”
The event will last from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Students will need their student ID to check into the event.
