MUNCIE, Ind. — My Ball State is a new app that replaces my.bsu.edu. The app unifies all Ball State services into one for easy access.
My.bsu.edu has been providing student resources for years. Students registered for classes, checked their finances, and could access their student banners. Now, with the arrival of MyBallState, students can do all of that and keep up with Ball State news, check local weather, access Ball State social networks, and more!
“MyBallState will provide students, faculty, and staff with an individualized and personalized experience on both desktop computers and mobile devices,” said Greg Fallon, Associate Vice President of University Communications and Digital Strategy.
“By ensuring the University better delivers what users need when they need it, we believe we can positively impact every Cardinals’ ability to be more efficient, more engaged, better informed and, ultimately, more successful.” Fallon also said.
The app uses widgets, which are small, moveable, customizable tabs that students can use to design their own app layout with the information they want to see. These widgets can range from academic shortcuts to Ball State social blog posts and social media feeds.
“In MyBallState, every student can customize how that space looks by adjusting widgets, setting shortcuts, choosing between light and dark mode, and more. The addition of a mobile app is a major positive for students, too. It provides an easy-to-use on-the-go option,” said Fallon
My Ball State aims to benefit students by making the app easy to use and comfortable. The app itself will constantly be updated to ensure students have the best experience possible.
“Everyone at Ball State will benefit because we believe our University will have a more engaged and informed community because of MyBallState. Several of the widgets were developed to inform users,” said Fallon.
“Other areas of the environment are focused on ensuring all Cardinals know the many opportunities to get involved on campus. Considering this, we believe MyBallState will serve as a positive platform that encourages engagement from everyone at Ball State.” Fallen also stated.
My.bsu.edu will officially close on January 1st, 2025, at the start of the new year, bringing a new technology service to our Cardinals and future Cardinals across the Ball State community.
