ALBANY, Ind. — The Albany farmer’s market was held on Sunday, providing a hub to consumers looking for fresh produce, artisan goods and more.
Any Albany or service area locals can attend the farmer’s market every Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and can be located at what is known as the “Big Park” on 208 E State St.
Madison Schweizer, an herbalist and baker, at the farmer’s market provides consumers with handmade soaps, salves, tinctures, bug sprays, dish cloths and scrubbies.
“The farmer’s market is my brick and mortar for now,” Schweizer said.
Attendees can also expect Brinkman’s Farm at the market. The booth sells grass-fed beef, steaks and roasts. The event aims to bring many service areas together for a sense of community with the hope of promoting their small business. Brinkman’s Farm posted on the Facebook page which stated, “Our goal is to provide consumers an opportunity to purchase locally grown produce & artisan items.”
To keep things exciting, they occasionally have live music and entertainment for people attending the event. At times, some booths sell their goods at a marketed price.
Albany’s farmer’s market began in early May and plans to continue till the end of September. Visitors can expect the last outdoor market to take place on September 29. Start and end times will remain the same as previous times.
