MUNCIE, Ind. — The night of April 4 marked the beginning of a new concert tour for the Grammy-award-winning gospel band We the Kingdom.
According to Emens Auditorium’s events page, the band was founded by a family of musicians spanning multiple generations. Its most prominent members are Ed Cash, Scott Cash, Franni Rae Cash Cain, Martin Cash, and Andrew Bergthold. The band was founded in 2018 at a camp in Georgia when the members came together to sing worship songs.
The band creates a series of songs incorporating musical genres like rock, country, pop and folk while writing vulnerable, gritty lyrics about the spectrum of human emotion.
Ed, a producer and songwriter, is best known for his contributions and work with fellow Christian artists Chris Tomlin, David Crowder and the rock band NEEDTOBREATHE.
Following their last headline tour, which concluded in a sold-out event in Nashville, Tennessee, the band is now a part of The Church Music Tour with Katy Nicole. Emens Auditorium said the band plans to reveal their newest era with their new song “The Plans” during their tour.
Nicole, best known for her hit songs “In Jesus’ Name,” “God Is In This Story,” and “Hold On,” is serving as the direct support for the tour, which will last from April 4 to May 17.
Following their first night of the tour, We the Kingdom and Nicole will stop in Lexington, Kentucky.
