Muncie Burris defeated Mississinewa Valley 62-43. The Owls led the entire game at one point being up by 20.
The Owls led 13-5 at the end of the first and then led 28-14 at halftime. The Blackhawks were able to cut the lead down to 6 a couple of times in the third quarter but were unable to take a lead. There were a lot of turnovers from both sides and it was a sloppy first quarter for both teams as halfway through the first Muncie Burris led 2-1.
Asher Donahue led the Owls with a season-high 26 points.
“He’s a prototype student-athlete,” Burris head coach Blair Broussard said. “He’s a core student in the classroom and in the community. He gives 115 percent every night.”
With the win, it snaps a nine-game losing streak, Broussard said shows how ready his players are to work.
Cole Conaster was close behind with a season-high 23 points.
The Owls move to 2-11. Mississinewa Valley's losing streak extends to 16 as they fall to 1-16. The owls now embark upon a 5 game road trip starting with Anderson Prep Academy Thursday, Feb. 1.
