Below are highlights and results from the past week’s Delaware County sporting events that those on the Daily News Sports Team were unable to attend. 

Monday (Jan. 22)

No results could be found. 

Tuesday (Jan. 23)

Yorktown boy’s basketball went on the road to take on Winchester and took the victory 76-58. Senior Mason Moulton and sophomore Connor Rowray, each had 14 points, leading the way for the Tigers.

Yorktown girl’s basketball fell at home to Greenfield-Central 51-33. Sophomore Addy Barnes led the scoring for the Tigers with 12 points. 

Delta girl’s basketball won their road matchup against Monroe Central 54-46. Eagles’ senior Paizley Cool led the scoring with 17 points.

Muncie Central girl’s basketball fell on the road to Kokomo 70-31. No stats could be found for the game.

Daleville boy’s basketball lost on the road against Anderson 70-46. No stats could be found for the game.

Daleville girl’s basketball defeated Indiana Math & Science Academy at home 64-25. The Broncos were led by sophomore Addi Gothrup with 27 points along with six steals.

Delta girl’s swim and dive defeated Norwell 124-79. Freshman Alivia Jackson came in first in the 200 and 500 freestyles. 

Wednesday (Jan. 24)

Muncie Central girl’s basketball defeated Muncie Burris 59-36. Senior Allison Bucur led the Owls with 12 points. 

Cowan girl’s basketball traveled to Southern Wells and fell 34-31. Senior Davelynn Lindsay led the way for the Blackhawks with 12 points. 

Thursday (Jan. 25)

Yorktown girl’s basketball lost their second home game of the week to New Palestine 47-35. The Tigers were led by sophomore Lilly Sylvester with 14 points.

Delta girl’s basketball fell on the road against Mt. Vernon 57-23. The Eagles were led by sophomore Jillian Barr with nine points.

Cowan girl’s basketball defeated Muncie Burris at home 49-24. The Blackhawks were led by freshman Savannah Hall with 17 points. The Owls were led by sophomore Sydney Jackson with 17 points.

Delta swim and dive finished their dual-meet season with both teams defeating Blackford. Jackson came in first in the 100 backstroke and junior Zach Baty came in first in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.

Friday (Jan. 26)

Yorktown boy’s basketball lost in their home conference matchup against New Palestine 66-58. Senior Kieran Tewari led the Tigers with 20 points.

Daleville boy’s basketball defeated Union at home 84-21. No stats could be found for the game.

Daleville girl’s basketball won their second home game of the week against Union 41-36. No stats could be found for the game.

Wes-Del boy’s basketball traveled to Randolph Southern and picked up a 56-48 win. The Warriors were led by senior Jack Rooker with 16 points.

Saturday (Jan. 27)

Yorktown boy’s basketball defeated Carroll on the road 50-48. Senior Kieran Tewari led the green and white with 19 points. Tewari also sank the game-winning shot.

Delta boy’s basketball went on the road to face Mt. Vernon but fell 53-51. No stats could be found for the game.

Muncie Central boy’s basketball lost their lone game of the week to Indianapolis Bishop Chatard 61-53. Senior DeMarkis Cole led the way for the Bearcats with 16 points.

Wes-Del defeated Cowan in a home conference matchup 67-56. Junior Josiah Love led the Warriors with 20 points. The Blackhawks were led by senior Timmy Watson with 19 points.

In the wrestling sectional at Delta High School, the Eagles (275.5) finished in first place, Yorktown (225) took second, and Cowan (214.5) finished in third.
