Delaware County results from 12/4-12/9

Below are highlights and results from the past week’s Delaware County sporting events that those on the Daily News Sports Team were unable to attend. 

Monday (Dec. 4)

Delta boys’ and girls’ swim and dive won the Eagles’ dual meet with Fort Recovery and Hagerstown. No stats from the meet could be found.

Tuesday (Dec. 5)

Delta girls’ basketball defeated Burris 71-26. Sophomore Jillian Barr recorded a triple-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 steals. 

Wapahani girls’ basketball defeated Yorktown 43-40. Sophomore Megan Luce led the Raiders with 10 points and three assists. Sophomore Addy Barnes led the Tigers with 14 points and three steals. 

Wednesday (Dec. 6)

Daleville girls’ basketball fell to Frankton 69-34. No stats from the match could be found. 

Thursday (Dec. 7)

Burris boys’ basketball defeated Randolph Southern 49-36. No stats from the match could be found. 

Wapahani girls’ basketball defeated Winchester 54-49. Luce led the Raiders with 18 points and five rebounds. 

Yorktown girls’ basketball fell to Monroe Central 43-33. Junior Claire Hazen and sophomore Lilly Sylvester each had ten points. 

Delta girls’ basketball fell to Pendleton Heights 80-36. Barr led with 15 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks. 

Delta boys’ and girls’ swim and dive defeated Muncie Central. The boys’ team won 98-88 and the girls’ team won 138-47. Junior Zach Baty won both the 200 and 500 freestyle. Junior Annie Jackson won the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly. 

Friday (Dec. 8)

Cowan boys’ basketball defeated Blue River 56-49. No stats from the match could be found. 

Cowan girls’ basketball fell to Blue River 33-29. Senior Davelynn Lindsay led with 16 points.

Burris girls’ basketball fell to University 55-38. No stats from the match could be found. 

Wapahani boys basketball defeated Lapel 70-35. Senior Isaac Andrews led with 33 points and grabbed seven rebounds. 

Wes-Del boys’ basketball defeated Union 90-33. Senior Jacob Grant led with 20 points and eight assists. 

Saturday (Dec. 9)

Wapahani boys’ basketball defeated Hagerstown 85-50. Andrews led with 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds. 

Yorktown girls’ basketball defeated Mt. Vernon 49-31. Sylvester led with 17 points and eight rebounds.
