Delta junior football player Nash Keesling is the Daily News Athlete of the Week from the week of 11/1-11/8.
“We've had a couple of rough seasons in the past few years,” Keesling said. “But to see [the community] stick around and be there for us was awesome.”
In the sectional championship win over Garrett on Friday, Nov. 3, Keesling recorded seven tackles and two sacks. Delta athletic director Tilmon Clark believes Keesling has improved in multiple ways.
“I've been really impressed with Nash's growth as an underclassman,” Clark said. “He not only has gotten bigger, faster, and stronger, but he's also developing leadership skills that will help the Eagles in the future!”
The Ball State Daily News will use this program to honor athletes who had an impressive week or a breakout performance. A candidate from each school will be chosen and the community can vote for the winner.
Candidates will be announced every Wednesday with the voting closing on the following Saturday at 5 p.m. If you believe a certain student-athlete should be your school’s candidate, email the Daily News high school sports reporter Zach Carter at zachary.carter@bsu.edu.
To vote for the athletes, check the Daily News Sports account on X.
