MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink Indiana) — After a terrific homecoming weekend, Ball State Football welcomes home a pair of Player of the Week awards.
Running back Marquez Cooper receives MAC’s West Division Offensive Player of the Week after his stellar ground game.
“It means a lot, but the work is not done,” Cooper said.
On the other side of the ball, linebacker Sidney Houston Jr. claims MAC’s West Division Defensive Player of the Week thanks to his tenacious efforts.
“I was able to have a little personal success, which is a great honor from a great conference...definitely a prestigious
honor to have,” Houston said.
After taking some time to enjoy the accolade, the focus now shifts to the remainder of the season.
“It’s one of those things you take it, enjoy it for a day or two, then you get right back to work,” Houston said. “We got to do what we got to do so we can go 1-0.”
According to Cooper, the keys to success looking forward are plain and simple.
“Lock in in the film room, and work hard every day in practice,” Cooper said.
The two will look to repeat their success Wednesday, November 1 at Bowling Green.
