YORKTOWN, Ind.—It’s off to state for Yorktown’s very own Kayleigh Agugliaro. The Tiger golfer secured her spot to the state championship this past weekend at regionals.
Agugliaro touched on her achievement and what it means to her and those around her.
“It means a lot to me. To come out of a family that doesn’t even play golf at all. After no making it last year, I worked really hard during the summer to be able to drop my numbers and play better for my senior season," Agugliaro said.
Head coach Nathan McClung spoke on how much Agugliaro is deserving of her recognition.
“Just getting experience to where her confidence right now is higher than has ever been. You’re seeing her scores drop," he said.
In the eye’s of a coach, the keys to success ultimately rely on Agugliaro playing her game.
“I just think if she sticks with her gameplay and plays Kayleigh Agugliaro golf, that she can get there," McClung said.
Agugliaro reflects on her takeaways that have helped lead her to such a great milestone.
“You have to put in the work to do so. It’s not just an easy thing to do.”
