MUNCIE, Ind. --- Ball State University’s Cardinal Kitchen has opened its doors for every second, third and fourth Tuesday of each month.
This student-run food pantry located on the lower level of BSU’s Student Center is entirely free of cost and open to all students. According to executive director Brianna Hatfield, the kitchen's mission is to “help fight food insecurity here across Ball State’s campus.”
Supplying campus with everyday items such as nonperishable food, fresh fruit and vegetables, toiletries and more, the Cardinal Kitchen stands confidently in their battle against student hunger. This process is made possible through its dedicated staff and student volunteers, both new and recurring.
When given a chance to look behind the scenes of this remarkable program, Hatfield stressed the importance of teamwork.
“This pantry is almost like a family to me, and it really helped me find my place here at Ball State.”
