MUNCIE, INDIANA — With the spring soccer season winding down, the Ball State team looks to finish their five-game season this Saturday against IUPUI.
This spring has been fast and swift for the Cardinals, facing Michigan State, Purdue and Indiana Wesleyan University earlier in the season. Junior Ryann Locante, a defender for the Cardinals, has enjoyed the playing time she has gotten this season.
“I didn’t get a ton of minutes, just in the fall and regular season so this spring has been a really big time for me to get confidence, just get those minutes in and get to make those plays,” Locante said.
Unlike in the fall season, the spring season is based heavily on how a member has improved their game. This season is mainly used for players that do not get as many minutes but can still get the feel for a real game pace.
Head Coach Josh Rife says, “In the spring, not that we still don’t care about the results, but development is probably able to take more of a front seat than in the fall.”
Ball State will finish their short season this Saturday and see who will step into those new roles.
