With Beth Goetz set to leave Ball State University at the end of September, Ken Bothof has been named the interim director of athletics, University President Geoffrey Mearns announced in a tweet Sept. 9.
Bothof has spent 35 years in college athletics with stints at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay and Northern Kentucky University respectively.
Mearns hired Bothof as athletics director while president at Northern Kentucky in 2013. Bothof was set to retire in January 2022 but will postpone those plans to serve as interim athletic director.
