Ro-Anne Royer Engle, Ball State vice president for student affairs, and Alan Finn, vice president for business affairs and treasurer, sent a campus-wide email Feb. 3 extending the current campus closure to 7 a.m. Feb. 5 due to the ongoing winter storm.
Royer Engle and Finn previously sent a campus-wide email Feb. 2 detailing a campus closure from 7 a.m. Feb. 3 to 7 a.m. Feb. 4. As initially reported, all courses will be held online during the closure, but residence halls, dining services, the Student Health Center, the L.A. Pittinger Student Center and all recreation services will remain operational.
The Student Health Center will operate 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Quick Clinic, Women’s Clinic, and Physical Therapy offices will be closed.
Bracken Library will again have limited hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
As before, Charlie’s Charter and campus shuttle buses will also not be operational.
The email states that students “should plan for resumption of full and normal operations University-wide at 7 a.m. Saturday, February 5,” and that all “In-person class interaction will resume on Monday, February 7.”
Royer Engle and Finn also urge students in the email to “avoid unnecessary travel for at least the upcoming 24-hour period” in order to avoid obstructing university, city, county and state road crews as they clear the public sidewalks and roadways.
