This Wednesday, the homecoming committee held a dinner for the campus at the Woodworth Commons. Any student was able to attend for a good meal. Special Events Chairs, Lexi Leisure and Blake Reynolds, were interviewed about the event.
The theme of the event was “Fly your way back home.” It was a buffet style meal serving sample cups of salad, tenderloins, sushi and many other foods. Leisure stated that the homecoming dinner is great for “connecting some of the younger students with the older students.” Students were able to come in, use their meal swipe, and eat good food while meeting other students.
The dinner marked the midway point in the homecoming week. It took place between the food truck festival and bed races. Reynolds discussed how “it was a really good thing to put in the middle and it really exposes the university of dining.” The dinner was meant to bring excitement and more energy for the rest of the week.
Many students were excited to see homecoming week return to normal. It had happened in the fall after it had been held in the spring last year due to COVID-19 restrictions. Leisure notes how “the campus has come alive this week” with the festivities.
