MUNCIE, Ind.(NewsLink) - Last fall, Ball State’s Women’s Volleyball team had a phenomenal season, winning their seventh Mid-American Conference Championship and making their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2011. But with the MAC and multiple Division 1 conferences postponing their fall sports due to the COVID-19 outbreak, how are the Lady Cardinals staying prepared for the spring season?
According to Head Coach Kelli Miller Phillips plan, “Taking it one day at a time. We’re taking it a little more fluid.”
Furthermore, both the players and coaching staff have agreed that staying connected with each other is more important than ever, especially between seniors and freshman.
Senior Kia Holder said, “Even though we’re not experiencing the volleyball-out-of-season portion, you still have that time to bond and create relationships that you usually would together during those practices.”
There’s still not a set date for when the spring season will begin, but the Lady Cardinals are more excited and motivated than ever before.
Phillips explained “they are so excited, so ready to get back in the gym.”
The Lady Cardinals already seemed locked in and ready to get back to work for the spring season. Teams not just in the MAC, but all throughout Division 1, will need to keep their eyes on the high-flying Lady Cardinals.
