Tonight: Tonight, expect cooler temperatures falling into the mid 50s overnight, with lows in the upper 40s. Clear skies are expected with light winds coming from the east at 5mph.
Tomorrow: Another beautiful day on tap for Tuesday, with sunny skies and seasonal temperatures. We start off in the upper 40s in the morning, so make sure you grab a jacket on your way out the door. We warm quickly into the mid to upper 60's by lunchtime, warming to the mid 70s by the afternoon. Plenty of sunshine is expected so get outside and enjoy it! Low temperatures will end up near 50 for Tuesday evening. A few scattered clouds are possible with light southeasterly winds.
While we remain dry here in Muncie, the South is currently bracing for the impact of Hurricane Sally. Sally recently strengthened to a Category 2 hurricane earlier today, with sustained winds of 100mph. The storm is creeping towards the Gulf Coast at only 5mph, bringing with it hurricane-force winds, life threatening storm surge, and the potential for dangerous flash flooding from New Orleans to the Florida Panhandle. The Florida Panhandle is currently experiencing rain from Sally's outer bands, but landfall is not expected until late Tuesday/early Thursday morning. The worst impacts will be seen in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia, as Sally will linger in the South until the end of this week. Sally will be the 4th hurricane to make landfall in the US this year.
7-Day: Sweater Weather is on the way! The Weather Prediction Center puts Indiana in the range for slightly below average temperatures in the next 6-10 days. We could even see highs in the mid 60s for Friday and Saturday. It will be a perfect week for any outdoor activities, so get outside and enjoy the cooler weather! We remain mostly dry with the exception of Thursday. We could see a slight chance for some scattered showers around lunchtime on Thursday. After that chance dissipates, more sunshine and fall-like temperatures on the way for the rest of the 7 day forecast!
