A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, the world was introduced to the absolute cutest thing anyone could ever see.
You guessed it: It’s Baby Yoda.
I have no idea where he came from. He just appeared in Disney+’s “The Mandalorian,” a show about a bounty hunter before the events of “The Force Awakens,” and the next thing I knew, he’s taking the entire world by storm.
Seriously, though, what is it about Baby Yoda that has the entire world so united in love? It’s like we only have had him for a few weeks, but if anything were to happen to him, we’d all basically kill everyone and then ourselves. It’s wild.
With every new screenshot or gif of Baby Yoda I find on Twitter, the more and more I just dote over him. He’s precious. He’s absolutely adorable.
Sure, Baby Yoda may be a marketing tactic for new toys — even then, we’ve been demanding plushies of this child for a while, and Disney has just revealed it will have toys released. Baby Yoda is not even the actual Yoda we see in the “Star Wars” movies due to the timeline, his canonical age and the nature of his species. Sure, Baby Yoda doesn’t actually do much in the series.
However, literally nobody cares.
I most certainly don’t care. I love Baby Yoda, and I’m so unapologetic about it. It’s even funnier considering I haven’t even seen “The Mandalorian,” but from what I’ve heard from friends who watch the show, even the bounty hunter himself has a soft spot for him too.
Thousands of fan drawings, screenshots and even Twitter accounts dedicated to Baby Yoda have sprung up in the wake of this craze, and I would ask for nothing less of this. Each new piece of media, as long as Baby Yoda is involved, fills me with such an intense happiness that I can’t think about anything else.
Baby Yoda is exactly what we as a society needed for this insane year, and Baby Yoda deserves all the love and affection in the world. I will be throwing as many hearts and heart emojis his way as possible just to convey my love.
Once all the episodes of “The Mandalorian” are out, I plan on binging the whole thing, specifically because of Baby Yoda. For now, for those who have not seen the show and have no idea what I’m talking about, just look up a few pictures of this child, and you will understand my love for Baby Yoda on a profane level. I promise.
I’m just saying, if the bounty hunter in the show can’t resist him, how can we? Exactly. We can’t. Baby Yoda is adorable and precious, and I love him with all my heart. Nothing more, nothing less.
