MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink) — The Ball State Women's Soccer team returns home this week searching for a strong finish to their season. With only three matches left for before the postseason, the team hopes to maintain their standing as one of the top teams in the conference.
The Cardinals are 12-4 on the year, and 6-2 in the MAC.
The team will take on MAC rival Kent State, looking to make up ground in the standings.
Following a split in their two games this past weekend, the Cardinals find themselves looking up at Bowling Green at the top of the standings in their quest for their first ever NCAA appearance.
According to captain Shelby Kean, after the team's loss to ninth place Toledo on Friday, the team has learned not to overlook the teams at the bottom of the conference.
"I think that you are never going to play a bad team,” said Kean. “You are always going to get a teams best game. So, you always gotta be prepared for that whether it be the last team in the MAC or the first team, you always gotta play your game and play like they are the best team in the world."
The match will take place Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Briner Sports Complex.
