MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink) — A long time community services agency is offering places to stay for homeless people to stay in Muncie.
Bridges began this program, Tiny Homes Community, back in 2016.
Bridges Community Services offers programs to the people in the community affected by homelessness. The service provides many resources to those in the program including a place to lay their head at night, to computers, where they can apply for jobs, says Sara Beaver, housing advocate at Bridges Community Services.
There are now six tiny homes in the community that house individuals who are unable to live in local shelters for various reasons.
This program currently houses 25 families and has an additional 170 who are on their priority waitlist to be housed.
Bridges is also holding a coat drive Oct. 12 at the Muncie Fair Grounds from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
