MUNCIE, Ind. (NewsLink) — Ball State University Dance Marathon is adding a new fundraising event to this year's schedule.
BSU Dance Marathon will be hosting its first ever garage sale.
The committee chose to start this new event in order to include the whole community in a fun and exciting way.
Fundraising director Jessica Wotjon said the garage sale will be a great way to “Create some hope” for the children at Riley Children’s Hospital. Anyone can come to the garage sale to purchase items such as home décor and goods. Many different members of the committee will be attending the fundraiser.
Dance Marathon is an organization on several campuses that raises money through fundraising and dancing for Riley Children’s Hospital.The money is to support patients and families throughout the hospital.
One specific way they help is by donating money towards the red wagons that are brought to patients’ rooms and often filled with treats and toys. These red wagons can bring joy and relief to the patients.
The garage sale is being held on Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Campus Christian House.
