WINTER WEATHER ALERT
A winter weather system is taking aim at east Central Indiana. Currently, it is sliding to the northeast through the Tennessee Valley.
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ahead of the system, as it will bring the potential for ice and snow accumulation.
All types of winter precipitation are expected, which will combine to create a slick commute Thursday morning, and will likely lead to hazardous road conditions for much of the day. Expect a freezing rain and snow to begin as early as 1 AM Thursday. We'll likely see the mixed precipitation, in the form of freezing rain and sleet overhead well into the morning hours.
Ice accumulation is our primary concern, though some light snow accumulation will also be possible as the event transpires.
As it is Winter Weather Preparedness week, we wanted to share some thoughts on how to keep yourself safe and prepared for the winter weather season!
Be sure to drive slow and stay tuned to NewsLink Indiana for the latest updates on the winter system. Be safe all!
