The Daily News staff received multiple awards at 2018 ACP/CMA National College Media Convention held in Louisville, Kentucky, Oct. 25-28.
Both the Pinnacle, awarded by the College Media Association (CMA), and Pacemaker, awarded by the Associated Collegiate Press (ACP), are national competitions. Additionally, any college media group in attendance at the convention were able to submit to Best of Show.

1st place:
Four Year Weekly Newspaper of the Year — The Ball State Daily News
2nd place:
Best Multimedia Feature Story — "Living Form: The man behind the masks" by Brooke Kemp, Ryan Shank, Jake Helmen, Luke Stazy, J.A. Fields, Max Harp, Aaron Milbourn, Quentin Basnaw, Michael Himes and Emily Wright.

3rd place:
