In its final weekend away series of the season, Ball State Soccer (3-1, 0-0 MAC) headed down south to take on College of Charleston (2-3, 0-0 CAA). An 18 minute onslaught by the Cardinals in the second half gave them the 3-0 win
The Cougars took the Cardinals to halftime scoreless, but after the 50 minute, the flood gates opened. A cross from senior captain Lauren Roll found freshman Tatiana Mason to head it into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Twelve minutes later junior Peighton Cook would score to put the Cardinals up by two. The Cardinals only had three corner kicks during the game and Cook capitalized on it after a flick on from junior Sam Kambol. Kambol would add to the scoring on a penalty kick to give the Cardinals a 3-0 advantage and a win.
Shots remained close throughout the game with the Cardinals narrowly outshooting the cougars 6-5. Senior Tristin Stuteville made five saves in the shutout win.
The Cardinals will take on the Charleston Southern Buccaneers on Sunday at 1 p.m.
