When Muncie Police Department officers arrived at Be Here Now around 3 a.m. Saturday, they discovered three pedestrians hit by a vehicle.
The pedestrians, who suffered from non-life-threatening injuries at 505 N. Dill St., were struck by a white Dodge Charger after the driver of the vehicle intentionally backed up and hit the victims, according to a cell phone video provided by a witness at the scene.
The suspect, Keith Childress, fled from the scene in a white Dodge Charger and was later arrested, according to police reports. Responding officers attempted to stop Childress, who was last seen going east on Washington Street, but were unsuccessful. Later, the vehicle was recovered with severe front damage.
Police arrested Childress, 29, late Monday on a $73,500 bond. He is preliminarily charged with three counts of criminal recklessness with a vehicle, two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of leaving the scene, resisting law enforcement and reckless driving.
