Ball State University sent out an alert Thursday morning stating University Police Department received a report of a sexual assault in an on-campus residence hall.
According to the alert, the assault occurred in an on campus residence hall and the suspect is known to the survivor.
The email also gave sexual assault crime prevention tips which include:
- Always get verbal consent from a partner. Consent is a clear and freely given yes, not the absence of a no.
- Define sexual limits and practice being assertive about boundaries
University officials said they don't know if the survivor will pursue an investigation, but anyone with information on the case should call UPD at 765-285-1111.
