Freshman pitcher Drey Jameson was honored with the Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Week award after tossing Ball State's first complete game shutout this season.
Jameson threw 136 pitches in the victory, only allowing five hits and eight total baserunners.
The win moved Jameson to 2-0 on the season, and marked the only victory of Ball State's weekend series with Eastern Michigan.
Jameson attended Greenfield Central High School, where he posted a 0.65 ERA in his senior season and was named 2017 Prep Baseball Report’s Indiana Player of the Year.
The performance was the first complete game shutout by a Ball State pitcher since BJ Butler in 2017.
Jameson's 10 strikeouts were also a career high.
Next up, Ball State visits Purdue on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
