After leading for majority of the game, Ball State women's basketball (23-5, 12-5 MAC) fell short to Central Michigan (24-4, 16-1 MAC) in a fast paced battle.
The Cardinals had a 76-68 lead with around five minutes left in the game, however, the Chippewas went on a 16-0 run to push them to an 88-80 win.
Central Michigan guard Presley Hudson helped lead the late fourth quarter run as she finished with 26 points, nine rebounds and five assists.
Besides the ending of the fourth quarter, Ball State had a successful night on the offensive end as it shot 50.8 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc.
Scoring was a team effort in the loss as four Cardinals were in double-digits.
Junior guard Nakeya Penny had a career night as she scored 18 points, and shot 7-9 from the field and 3-4 from deep in just 14 minutes.
Senior forward Moriah Monaco also added 18 points, while grabbing seven rebounds.
A downside for Ball State's offense was taking care of the basketball as the team combined for 17 turnovers.
Ball State will remain on the road for its final regular season game on Saturday when it takes on Eastern Michigan at 2 p.m.
