Students can vote for the 2018 Student Government Association (SGA) elections Monday and Tuesday.

Besides voting through email, students can vote at three locations — the Atrium, Bracken Library and the L.A. Pittenger Student Center —  on Feb. 26, and again on Feb. 27 at the David Letterman Building, Bracken Library and the L.A. Pittenger Student Center.

While only one slate is running for elections, students can cast their votes either in support of Amplify or for a vote of no confidence. A vote of no confidence means a voter does not support the policies a slate promotes.

Amplify includes campaigning slate members Isaac Mitchell, president; Matt Hinkleman, vice president; Kyleigh Snavely, secretary; and Jalen Jones, treasurer. The slate has a total of 16 platform points ranging from an LGBTQ resource center to establishing a shuttle bus to the farmer’s market.

“We need students engaged in SGA whether they are supporting us our not,” Mitchell said. “At the end of the day, there is only one slate running. We are not treating this as a political campaign, but as an opportunity to actually hear what the students want.”

The winners will be announced after 5 p.m. Feb. 27 in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center, Office of Student Life.
