“Whether they want to ask their opinion on Greek life or other campus issues, students can ask that here,” said elections board chair Abigail Gibbs. “This gives them the opportunity to ask the questions they want and voice their opinions.”
To submit a question to the debate, students can email SGA Debate Coordinator Sara Maier or ask a question on Twitter using #SGAElections.
Amplify Slate members Isaac Mitchell, president; Matt Hinkleman, vice president; Kyleigh Snavely, secretary; and Jalen Jones, treasurer; said they want students to ask questions.
“I encourage students to just let us know what we need to change on Ball State’s campus,” Mitchell said. “At the end of the day, there is only one slate running. We are not treating this as a political campaign, but as an opportunity to actually hear what the students want.”
Additionally, Hinkleman said Amplify’s goal is to simply amplify the voice of students.
“If you have any concern you want to voice, please tell us,” Hinkleman said. “We want to hear as many opinions as we can. ”
This is the first time in eight years that a slate has run unopposed. Students can cast their vote — for Amplify or a vote of no confidence — online or in person at one of the 14 different voting stations across campus.
