National rhetoric about sexual assault at universities has not gone unnoticed by the 47th vice president of the United States.
More than 3,000 Greek life leaders will listen to Joe Biden speak about sexual assault prevention at the J.W. Marriott in Indianapolis Friday.
The speech is part of the Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values Central 2018 conference.
In 2014, President Barack Obama and Vice President Biden started It’s On Us, a nonprofit program that aims to change campus culture through educating young men about sexual assault prevention.
The progress of this nonprofit and Biden continuing work with it will be incorporated into his address Friday.
“Everyone has a moral obligation to step up and show leadership in working to end sexual violence—especially men,” Biden said in a press release. “This obligation doesn’t start and end at a college party or in the workplace: It is founded on the fundamental need to change the culture that allows sexual assault to exist.”
