As the Minnetrista staff prepares for their annual Enchanted Luminaria Walk, colorful ornaments, lights and holiday decorations adorn the grounds.
With 40 acres to decorate, Sam Condon, communications specialist for Minnetrista, said work began about two or three weeks ago. The planning process, however, takes months of work and support from many different organizations.
This year marks the 22nd annual Enchanted Luminaria Walk, which will take place from 6-9 p.m. this Friday and Saturday.
During the event, many buildings throughout Minnetrista will host local vendors, craft makers and crafts for visitors to take part in. There will also be live music, including choirs and piano performers, a selfie station and train rides in Oakhurst Gardens.
“Most of the event will be familiar to people who’ve come in the past,” said Ashley Mann, discovery and engagement manager at Minnetrista. “We love to help people create memories and develop family traditions.”
One of Condon’s favorite parts of the event is buying kettle corn from the vendors, who he said makes the best kettle corn he has ever had.
“I could probably eat a whole bag by myself and not feel guilty,” Condon said.
As for new visitors, Condon said he recommended visiting the buildings and walking as much of the grounds as possible.
“We want people from our community to join us for this fun, festive event,” Mann said. “Families, single people, friend groups, couples — everyone is welcome.”
