The homecoming steering committee released its plans for Homecoming week yesterday. This year's theme is "Cardinals Around the World."
Here are some of the many events that you can use to show off your Cardinal Spirit:
Monday, Oct. 16:
The Taste of Homecoming
New this year to Homecoming Week is the The Taste of Homecoming on Martin St. This event will feature a food truck festival, music by Ball State’s own “The Indigos” and The Escape Muncie Truck. There will be more than seven food trucks with food ranging from barbecue to Cajun. The Escape Muncie Truck will cost $15 a person and will hold six to eight people at a time. It offers a BSU themed game as well as the normal escape game.
Tuesday, Oct. 17:
Talent Search
The 33rd Annual Student Scholarship Talent Search will be at 7:30 p.m. in Emens Auditorium. Admission is free. Each category winner will receive a $500 scholarship and the overall winner will receive an additional $500 scholarship. The Royalty Coronation will take place at the end of the show.
Wednesday Oct. 18:
Homecoming Dinner
Enjoy a Homecoming-themed dining experience with your friends at Noyer Retreat and Lafollette from 5-8 p.m. There will be a Homecoming menu and special giveaway to all attendees.
Thursday, Oct. 19:
Air Jam
Come see various student organizations compete in Ball State Homecoming’s most popular event. The annual lip-sync competition will be at 8 p.m. in Emens Auditorium. Tickets are $15.
Friday, Oct. 20:
Spirit Day | Friday, October 20, 2017 | ALL DAY
Show your Cardinal spirit by purchasing a 2017 Homecoming T-shirt or wearing your Cardinal gear. Post a picture of you in it on the Facebook or Twitter page and tag BSUAA with the following hashtag #CardinalsAroundtheWorld for a chance to win a gift card for the online Alumni Store.
All-Alumni & Friends Golf Outing at The Players Club
At 1 p.m. at the Players Club, teams can play at the annual Homecoming golf outing. Registration begins at noon and play will start at 1 p.m. The cost is $75 per person and includes green fees, cart, lunch, souvenir and prizes.
Bed Race
The annual Bed Races will occur at 11 a.m. on Riverside Avenue. Take your friends to see teams of five racing 100 yards in wheeled beds.
ARTAGEOUS!
Art, music, theater, singing, dancing, audience interaction occur all at once on Emens Stage. This show captures the creativity of artists at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $5 for students.
Saturday, Oct. 21:
5k Run/Walk
The fifth annual Homecoming 5k will start at 9:45 a.m. at Muncie City Hall. Participate or cheer on 200 walkers/runners as they run through a beautiful campus.
Parade
Come support one of Ball State’s greatest traditions at 10 a.m. at Muncie Central High School. Various floats, cars, bands and even horses will be in this annual parade.
CharlieTown Tailgate
Relax with friends before the game from noon to 3 p.m. on the west lawn of the Alumni Center. It will be the tailgating hot spot for football, food, entertainment, drinks and fun.
BSU Football vs. Central Michigan
Cheer on the Cardinals in their Homecoming game against Central Michigan at Scheumann Stadium. Kickoff is at 3 p.m.
