Week 4 previews
Muncie Central (0-3) vs. Richmond (0-3)
One of the two teams will get its first win of the season this week and the Muncie Central Bearcats are coming off a pair of tough losses.
Last week, Muncie Central lost to Anderson 35-28 on the road and took a loss in week two after a last second touchdown pass from Yorktown's Riley Neal.
With Richmond only putting up 30 points this entire season, Muncie Central may be looking at its first win of the season in week four.
Wes-Del (1-2) at Tri (2-1)
While most teams continue conference play this week, Wes-Del does not because of the fact that there are only three teams in the Mid-Eastern Conference.
Week four will mark Wes-Del's third road game of the season coming off of a tough 6-0 loss to Eastern on the road last week.
Overall, the Warriors have played even against opponents, scoring 42 points compared to opponents 53. This week, Wes-Del will rely on the balanced attack of quarterback Camden Townsend who has 279 passing yards and 84 rushing yards in three games.
New Castle (1-2) vs. Shelbyville (3-0)
Shelbyville is coming fresh off of a last minute victory against Delta last week, pushing them to 3-0 on the season.
New Castle, on the other hand, will be looking for a win after a close 34-31 loss against Pendleton Heights last week.
The Trojans are led by quarterback Niah Williamson who is leading the team in both passing (964) and rushing (100) yards this season. This will be the first air attack Shelbyville will see this season as none of their opponents have thrown for more than 150 yards in a single game.
Monroe Central (3-0) at Union City (1-2)
What else can be said about the Golden Bears this season?
Thus far, Monroe Central has won and won big, outscoring opponents 106-12 in three weeks of action.
The Golden Bears will look to continue that winning streak and their average of 200 rushing and passing yards per as they travel to Union City this Friday.
Game of the Week: Delta (2-1) vs. Yorktown (2-1)
Both teams enter rivalry week with losses in the Hoosier Heritage Conference.
Yorktown lost 43-0 against New Palestine last week while Delta is coming off of a last-minute 28-21 loss against Shelbyville.
Yorktown head coach Mike Wilhelm said that the teams loss last week was due to a bad week of practice, and the seniors have since stepped up to motivate the team to move past their Delaware County rival.
Delta, in the meantime, is trying to get back to fundamentals, according to head coach Christopher Overholt, as it looks to host Yorktown for the week four matchup.
