Former Ball State baseball player signs free agent deal with Chicago White Sox - June 27, 2017

It didn't take long into his career in the United Shore Professional Baseball League for former Ball State infielder Alex Maloney to receive a phone call from a Major League Organization.

During the middle of just his fourth game with the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers on Saturday, Maloney was pulled to begin his transition to Arizona, where he is headed to join Chicago's rookie team. ... Read more.

Muncie receives grant to support artists in residence program - June 28, 2017

The National Endowment for the Arts has recently announced it has approved the city of Muncie for a $50,000 grant that will support an artist in residence program.

The grant will support the city partnering with the Muncie Arts and Culture Council to provide visiting artists with a temporary residence and gallery exhibition space, as well as facilitate access to studio space and fabrication equipment, according to a news release. ... Read more.

UPDATE: I-69 bridge construction project advances, northbound exit opens Friday - June 29, 2017

The northbound Interstate 69 Exit 241 ramp to State Road 332/McGalliard Road that was supposed to open last night has been delayed to Friday before 6 a.m.

Crews will close various lanes on northbound and southbound I-69 tonight between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. to open the northbound exit ramp and shift traffic lanes toward the right shoulders and away from the median. ... Read more.
