Wanting to try something new while staying in Muncie?

Cornerstone Center for the Arts will be offering a variety of different events and workshops for the community in August. 

Monthly Art Club  

Lauren King, Cornerstone’s visual arts instructor, will lead the club with an hour of art appreciation and demonstration on Aug. 2 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. 

All supplies are provided in the $10 fee, which allows free reign of Cornerstone's art studio. Monthly Art Club is open to ages 14 and up.   

Coffee & Paints  

Conerstone will be offering two Coffee & Paints workshops on Aug. 5 and 26. The workshops are open to students in the 4th grade through adults. Attendees can be experienced artists or completely new to painting.  

Registration is $25 per person. 

Paint in the Park  

Paint in the Park at Morrow’s Meadows will be on Aug. 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. In partnership between Cornerstone and the Yorktown Council for the Arts, the family event will be held in the pavilion at Morrow's Meadow.  

The $15 fee covers painting instruction and supplies for one person ages 7 to adults. Adults are not required to register if they are helping a child paint.    

Monthly Dance Club  

The monthly social dance event at Cornerstone Center for the Arts will be Aug. 12 from 7 to 10:30 p.m. 

Each event begins with an hour of dance instruction in swing, ballroom, salsa, or tango dancing led by instructor David Fennig followed by open dancing.

The fee is $12 per person or $7 for students. No pre-registration is necessary for this event.    

Pints & Paints  

The next painting experience will be held at The Fickle Peach in Downtown Muncie on Aug. 24. 

Attendees get to participate in two hours of creating a unique featured painting at each workshop. The workshop is for ages 21 and up and includes one drink in the $25 registration fee. 


Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ will begin its fall session in September.
