Ball State women's basketball drops final home game, enters MAC Tournament as No. 2 seed

Ball State women's basketball ended the regular season with an overtime 76-66 loss to Toledo Saturday.

The Cardinals were out-rebounded 42-32 by the Rockets and were limited to 36.9 percent shooting from the field.

Senior center Renee Bennett led the Cardinals with 23 points and 11 rebounds, and senior guard Jill Morrison scored 15 points.

Morrison was 3-8 on 3-point attempts, but the rest of the team was a combined 2-13 from beyond the arc. Bennett was 9-16 from the floor, but the rest of the team was a combined 15-49 (30.6 percent).

The Cardinals finished 21-9 and 14-4 in Mid-American Conference play, one spot behind regular season champion Central Michigan (23-7, 15-3 MAC).

Ball State plays either No. 7 Buffalo (20-9, 10-8 MAC) or No. 10 Bowling Green State (8-22, 4-14 MAC) in the MAC Tournament in Cleveland Wednesday.
