Ball State women’s swim and dive is on the road this weekend as they travel to Oxford, Ohio, to take on Miami.
The Cardinals have a record of 4-3 overall (0-2 MAC), and the team has won its last three meets. They have been on the road the past five meets and came on top for three of them. Each time the team has swum against Miami, they have fallen short.
Ball State won its last meet against Indiana State and Eastern Illinois. The team took first place in the first 200-medley event. The team also placed first and second during events that followed.
Miami is coming off a loss to the Toledo Rockets, and the Cardinals will take advantage of that.
Freshman freestyle and backstroke swimmer Anne Vormohr said practices are getting lighter in preparation for the NCAA Championships.
“Since we are halfway done with the season now, we are starting to prepare for the tournament,” Vormohr said. “Whether it’s from swimming less reps or getting out early, we are giving our bodies a rest.”
The Cardinals will use their victory from last weekend to perform their best in this meet. With only three meets left in the season until the Mid-American Conference Championships, the Cardinals hope to come out on top this weekend.
The meet kicks off at 1 p.m. on Jan. 28.
