At 1:30 p.m. today, the Board of Trustees met and announced Geoffrey S. Mearns the next president of Ball State. Mearns has been the president of Northern Kentucky University since Aug. 1, 2012. His first day of work at Ball State will be no later than Aug. 1, 2017.
