Muncie Police are searching for three attempted armed robbers after a house was broken into one block from Ball State's campus.
Three individuals wearing dark clothing and armed with at least two guns made a forced entry into a residence at 1129 W. Carson Jan. 2, MPD confirmed. Police said they were dispatched to the home following a call to emergency dispatchers just after 8 p.m.
Dispatchers said no ambulance was requested to the scene once police arrived.
It is unknown if anything was taken from the home, and the direction of the subjects — who left on foot — is also still being investigated by police.
University police and MPD searched the area around Carson Street but were unable to locate any individuals.
Ball State emergency alerts were issued at 8:25 p.m. and 9:03 p.m. UPD dispatchers said that there was never a threat to the campus, however, and the messages were only "information alerts."
